As Playoff Race Thickens, Miami Marlins Rehabbing Ace Has Encouraging Outing

In this story:
As the Miami Marlins make one last push for the playoffs in the National League, perhaps a former Cy Young winner will be able to aid the cause.
Sandy Alcantara, who won the Cy Young award in 2022, made a rehab start on Thursday - with encouraging results.
Per Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald:
Sandy Alcantara's outing with Triple A Jacksonville:
4 innings, 1 hit, 4 Ks, 0 BB, 51 pitches (34 strikes).
Four-seam averaged 95.8 mph and topped out at 98.3.
Mixed in all his pitches.
#Marlins have to be happy with that. Story breaking down the outing:

He has been on the injured list with a UCL injury and while nothing has been decided yet, perhaps he can come to the majors and make a start before the regular season ends. If he's healthy enough to do so, that would be good for the Marlins and their quest for the playoffs, but would also get him ready for the playoffs if the team should make it.
Miami enters play on Friday night at 79-74 and tied for the third and final wild card spot with the Chicago Cubs. Both teams are 0.5 games ahead of the Cincinnati Reds.
The Marlins will host the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET.
Former Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes will pitch for Milwaukee on Friday. He's 9-8 with a 3.56 ERA.
Alcantara is 7-12 this year with a 4.14 ERA. He's struck out 151 batters this season.
