After being placed on the injured list on Sunday morning, New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is now expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

He was removed from Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins with the issue but now will miss more than the 10-day minimum.

He's been diagnosed with a Grade-2 hamstring strain, per reports. Oswald Peraza was called up to take his place on the roster and the team can utilize Peraza, Franchy Cordero, Aaron Judge, and Aaron Hicks in the outfield to cover for him, while also rotating players in at the DH spot.

The 33-year-old Stanton is a five-time all-star, a two-time silver slugger, a home run derby champion and he won the National League MVP in 2017 with the Marlins.

For his career, he's a .264 hitter with 382 home runs. He pairs with Aaron Judge to make one of the most dangerous home run duos in the entire sport.

For this season, he's out to a .269 start with four home runs.

As for Peraza, he made his major league debut in 2022, hitting .306 in a 49 at-bat sample.

The Yankees are out to a 10-6 start this season after splitting a four-game series with the Twins. They'll open up a new series on Tuesday night at home against the Los Angeles Angels, who are currently 7-8.

At the time of this posting, the Angels are leading the Red Sox, 5-1 in the top of the third inning. The game is currently in a rain delay at Fenway Park.
