Texas Rangers right-hander and All-Star Nathan Eovaldi experienced a slight setback on the rehab trail this week, but manager Bruce Bochy isn't overly worried about it, it sounds like.

In an update via MLB.com:

Manager Bruce Bochy said on Aug. 27 that Eovaldi was feeling tightness in his side after his latest bullpen session. Bochy said there is nothing wrong with Eovaldi’s arm, but the team just wants to be cautious with the All-Star right-hander and not cause any further issues. Bochy said Eovaldi, who was going to play catch before the Rangers' Aug. 27 game in Minnesota, had a “great” bullpen session on Aug. 24 but reported feeling the tightness in his side.

Eovaldi will throw another bullpen session on Tuesday as the team is in New York to take on the Mets so he still appears to be making progress, but any halt to his rehab could be a big deal for the Rangers, who have fallen out of first place in the American League West and trail the Seattle Mariners by 1.0 game.

In his first year in Texas, Eovaldi has had an excellent season, going 11-3 with a 2.69 ERA. He's struck out 111 batters in 123.2 innings.

The Rangers are 73-57 on the year and will take on the Mets on Monday night.

First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. ET as Jon Gray (TEX) pitches against Tylor Megill (NYM).

Gray is 8-7 this year with a 3.76 ERA while Megill is 7-7 with a 5.54.
