Kansas City Royals Introduce Convenience Store QuikTrip as New Jersey Sponsor

The Kansas City Royals announced they were entering MLB's first and only jersey partnership built around investing in the community alongside QuikTrip.

The Kansas City Royals announced Wednesday that they were entering a jersey partnership with regional convenience store and gas station QuikTrip.

The deal was introduced as an initiative to improve youth literacy, which led to the Royals calling it the first and only jersey partnership in MLB built around investing in the community.

"This unique partnership with QuikTrip allows us to combine our off-field efforts with our on-field presence to help our community and increase literacy rates throughout the region," Royals executive vice president Sarah Tourville said in a statement.

A red QuikTrip patch will be featured on the sleeve on Kansas City’s jerseys this season.

The team put out a video featuring catcher Salvador Perez, shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., manager Matt Quatraro and others auditioning to announce the partnership.

QuikTrip is a convenience store chain that operates primarily in the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest. There are just over 1,000 QuikTrip locations in the United States as of February 2024, including 24 in Kansas City, Missouri.

This is the Royals’ first jersey sponsor since MLB began allowing the practice in 2022 as part of the latest collective bargaining agreement. There are now 15 teams across the league with corporate jersey partners.
