Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins Reportedly Interested in Chicago White Sox Outfielder

The Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins are reportedly interested in trading for Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez.

With the Chicago White Sox having recently traded Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Kendall Graveman and Joe Kelly, teams are inquiring about acquiring other Sox stars.

We heard recently that the Miami Marlins are interested in infielder Tim Anderson and it's being reported that the Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers are interested in trading for outfielder Eloy Jimenez.

As the above article references, there's no indication that the White Sox want to move Jimenez, but teams are checking in regardless as the White Sox go into sell-mode.

The 26-year-old Dominican Republic native is hitting .285 this season with 13 home runs and 46 RBI. Unfortunately, health has been a problem for him throughout his career, as he's only played more than 100 games one season in his career (not including the COVID 2020 season). He's played 70 this season.

For his career, he's a .277 hitter with 84 home runs. He made his debut in the 2019 season.

He's under contract through 2024 and comes with team option years in both 2025 and 2026 so an acquiring team would have up to 3.5 years of team control, and the White Sox would assuredly shoot high in any negotiations.

The Brewers currently lead the National League Central by 0.5 games over the Reds and just acquired slugger Carlos Santana the other day from the Pirates. Miami is currently tied for the final wild card spot in the National League and just recently traded for closer David Robertson of the New York Mets.

The White are 42-63 this season.
