After being told he would miss four-to-six weeks with a hamstring injury, New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton has commented on the frustration that he's feeling.

Bryan Hoch, who covers the Yankees, tweets on Thursday: "Giancarlo Stanton on his hamstring injury: "The disbelief and disappointment is hard to put into words." Said the team relies on him and called his absence "unacceptable."

He was removed from last Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins with the issue.

He's been diagnosed with a Grade-2 hamstring strain. Oswald Peraza was called up to take his place on the roster and the team can utilize Peraza, Franchy Cordero, Aaron Judge, and Aaron Hicks in the outfield to cover for him, while also rotating players in at the DH spot.

The 33-year-old Stanton is a five-time all-star, a two-time silver slugger, a home run derby champion and he won the National League MVP in 2017 with the Marlins.

Unfortunately, injuries have become a part of the story in recent years for Stanton, who only played in 110 games a season ago. He also played in just 23 games in the COVID-shortened season in 2020 and played in only 18 games in 2019.

For his career, he's a .264 hitter with 382 home runs. He pairs with Aaron Judge to make one of the most dangerous home run duos in the entire sport.

For this season, he's out to a .269 start with four home runs.

The Yankees are taking on the Angels on Thursday at 4:05 p.m. ET and you can see the lineups here.
