Watch: Angels Star Mike Trout Hits ANOTHER Home Run vs. Rays at Tropicana Field

Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout is at it again. He hit a home run against the Tampa Rays in the first inning Wednesday night. It's his league-leading eighth home run — and four of them have come against the Rays this season.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Mike Trout hitting a home run isn't really big news, but the Tampa Bay Rays sure are getting tired of hearing about it.

The Los Angeles Angels slugger was up to his old tricks again Wednesday night. He ripped a rope out to right-center field in the first inning, clearing the wall at Tropicana Field for his league-leading eighth home run of the season. He's hit FOUR of those against the Rays.

Here's the highlight of his shot Wednesday against Rays starter Zack Littell.

The Rays and Angels were playing their sixth game of the season already on Wednesday night, and they'll wrap up their season series on Thursday afternoon with a 1:10 p.m. ET getaway game. Trout is going to hate to see the Rays in his rear-view mirror.

He hit a two-run home run off reliever Phil Maton on Monday night, erasing a 1-0 Rays lead in the eighth inning. The Angels went on to win 7-3.

Last week in Anaheim, he tagged the Rays twice with long balls. An April 8, he hit a solo home run off Rays starter Zach Eflin and the next night, he homered off of Aaron Civale in the first inning.

Trout came into Wednesday's game with the highest career OPS all-time at Tropicana Field. He was at 1.082, slightly ahead of Travis Hafner (1.076). He padded that lead with the shot off of Littell. Trout has hit a homer in nine straight series played in St. Petersburg.

“When they’ve been making mistakes, he’s been making them pay,” Angels manager Ron Washington said. "He’s swinging the bat well.”
