UFC News: Beneil Dariush Gets Brutally Honest On His Future Following KO Loss to Arman Tsarukyan

Dariush doesn't shy away from his current mindset on fighting.

UFC lightweight Beneil Dariush doesn't know what his MMA future holds at this time.

Dariush has proven to be a formidable foe at 155 pounds over the years. He was once riding an eight-fight winning streak and appeared to be on the cusp of a UFC title shot with one more big win. Ultimately, Dariush had his winning streak snapped by Charles Oliveira. He recently lost his second fight in a row after being knocked out by Arman Tsarukyan at UFC Austin on December 2.

During an appearance on Submission Radio, Beneil Dariush gave an honest look on his fighting future and admitted there is uncertainty.

"I gotta be honest with you guys, last time I was here it was maybe 2017 or '18," Dariush said. "I was in back-to-back losses, and my goal in this game is to be the best that I can be. I just remember spending a lot of time in prayer and trying to figure out if I was done back then, and I'm kind of in the same spot right now. I'm just trying to figure out do I go forward or am I done kind of deal, right? 'Cause I'm not trying to be like a 50/50 fighter, or even a top 10 fighter. I'm trying to be number one in the world. I wanna be the best, and I'm not gonna settle for anything less than that."

Dariush admitted he doesn't have any health issues like he did when he first contemplated his MMA future all those years ago. The 34-year-old says that's what makes this situation different, and he will seek out what to do next through prayer.
