Former UFC title contender Chael Sonnen believes so isn't quite right with the planned Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler bout.

McGregor and Chandler are serving as opposing coaches on season 31 of "The Ultimate Fighter." They are expected to share the Octagon at some point this year, but rumors have been swirling about the possibility that the fight won't actually take place.

You can count Sonnen as someone who is a bit skeptical about the likelihood of McGregor and Chandler trading leather. He explained why during an appearance on MMAFighting's "The MMA Hour."

"We don't even have a weight class," Sonnen said. "If you ask Chandler, they're fighting at '55. If you ask McGregor, they're fighting at '70, just by example. We don't have a venue, we don't have an on sale, we don't have 50 percent of the participants within the pool. This fight doesn't feel right. Something about this feels very off."

Sonnen went on to theorize that if McGregor does re-enter the USADA testing pool and is ready to fight by September, which is when the targeted Madison Square Garden card in New York City is supposed to take place, then that likely eliminates any chance of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic happening.
