Henry Cejudo's Bold Statement On Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler

Henry Cejudo keeps it real on Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler.

Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo has a grim outlook on the chances of Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler coming to fruition.

McGregor and Chandler are opposing coaches on season 31 of "The Ultimate Fighter." The idea is that both men will collide at some point after the season comes to a close. UFC President Dana White previously mentioned the hope that the fight can be booked before the end of the year.

Recently, however, the UFC boss appeared to be a little less optimistic about the fight happening, saying it's hard to "reel" top fighters in when they've made a lot of money.

During an interview with "The Schmo," Cejudo shared his take on whether or not McGregor vs. Chandler will ever take place.

"I could see them skipping Chandler," Cejudo said. "I could see Conor just saying, 'Hey, I'm gonna want this guy.'"

The man known as "Triple C" explained why he thinks the UFC may consider pulling the rug from under Chandler.

"Chandler's entertaining, but he's not a big name," Cejudo said. "There's no UFC belt around him. He's not a legend in the UFC. He's an entertainer of the UFC, but he hasn't got there yet. I feel like Chandler, if he had the right tactics, he could potentially beat anybody in the world because he has power and he has wrestling, but I don't think he's really kind of put those two things together."

McGregor hasn't been seen inside the Octagon since he suffered a fractured tibia and fibula in his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier. That fight took place back in July 2021. McGregor has insisted that he will "never retire." Others aren't so sure that he'll ever make a return.
