Michael Chandler's Bold Statement On Status Of UFC Fight Against Conor McGregor

Michael Chandler is confident the Conor McGregor fight will happen.

Michael Chandler is expected to fight Conor McGregor, but some don't believe the two will ever meet inside the Octagon.

Chandler and McGregor are opposing coaches on season 31 of "The Ultimate Fighter." During their first face-to-face meeting on the show, the two traded some trash talk about how their fight will play out.

While very few are doubting Chandler's work ethic going into the fight, some can't say the same for McGregor. Some fans have even grown concerned about the way McGregor has come across in interviews, but don't tell that to the "Notorious" one.

Chandler appeared on SiriusXM's "MMA Today," and he responded to the fear that McGregor ultimately won't be fighting him. "Iron" revealed whether or not he believes chances of the bout taking place are good.

"I think it's very high," Chandler said. "If you know Conor at all, you've watched Conor, if you've followed him over the years, yeah, I mean you could say, 'Hey, he's got all the money in the world.' People say, 'Oh, he's partying,' or people say all these different things."

Chandler said that some fighters simply like to party, but are able to shut everything down the moment fight camp begins.

"Conor's not necessarily doing anything that he hasn't normally been doing," Chandler said. "Ultimately, I think this show is gonna motivate him to wanna come back. His documentary coming out, the comeback story. The dude's coming back, the dude's coming back and fighting by the end of the year."

Ultimately, the top-ranked lightweight is confident that he will share the Octagon with McGregor no matter the weight class.

"I think the likelihood of us fighting is near 100 percent," Chandler said.
