MMA News: Unbeaten Fighter Scores Violent KO With Brutal Knee

This unbeaten lightweight proved he's more than just a submission threat.

Damian Rzepecki narrowly avoided going to the scorecards for the first time as a pro thanks to a brutal knockout at Fight Exclusive Night 53 in Lubin, Poland.

Following a 6-3 amateur career that concluded with two bouts in FEN, Rzepecki turned pro in 2021 and stopped his first six opponents ahead of a matchup with Giorgi Esiava at FEN 53 last weekend.

Esiava entered the night on an impressive five-fight win streak that included a submission victory in his FEN debut last year, but that run of success came to a shocking end when Rzepecki pressed the Georgian to the cage and ended things with an absolutely brutal knee.

The unbeaten lightweight was fully prepared to land a follow-up shot if needed, but once it was clear that Esiava was finished he thankfully held back with the right hand he had started to load up.

Rzepecki narrowly avoided going the distance for the first time in his pro career, and the knockout victory was also especially impressive given that the majority of the Polish fighter’s previous wins have come via submission.

The lightweight bout between Rzepecki and Esiava featured as part of the main card at FEN 53, and in the night’s headlining bout Cezary Oleksiejczuk (younger brother of UFC veteran Michal Oleksiejczuk) reclaimed the promotion’s vacant welterweight title via third-round doctor’s stoppage.
