UFC Hall of Famer Names "Real Heavyweight Test" For Jon Jones

The UFC legend thinks Jon Jones can be tested at heavyweight.

One former UFC champion believes Jon Jones has a legitimate challenge waiting for him at heavyweight.

Jones is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion. He captured the gold after defeating Ciryl Gane with ease via first-round submission back in March. "Bones" hadn't fought in three years, but there was clearly no rust on him.

With how dominant he looked against Gane, many fight fans are convinced that Jones doesn't have any real challenges left. UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping disagrees.

Taking to his YouTube channel, Bisping named the heavyweight who can give Jones a true test.

"I mean Stipe Miocic vs. Jon Jones, that's the fight that's supposed to go down, supposedly Madison Square Garden and I hope it does," Bisping said. "That would be a real test, a real heavyweight test for Jon Jones because Jon moved up to heavyweight, he fought Ciryl Gane. With respect to Ciryl, not the most complete fighter. There is tougher challenges stylistically for Jon Jones and again, that's not an insult to Ciryl Gane."

Bisping reminded fans of the success Miocic had against UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier, who was a top-notch wrestler.

"Stipe's the heavyweight king," Bisping said. "He defended the belt three times, he's a tremendous wrestler. He was able to take DC down, he was able to stop DC's takedowns as well a lot of the time. I'm not saying DC didn't have any success. Of course, he knocked him out in the first fight, so clearly he did."

A lot has been made over what is next for Jones. Chael Sonnen recently claimed he's been hearing that "Bones" vs. Miocic talks may have gone off the rails, and Sergei Pavlovich could end up being the next UFC heavyweight title challenger. Time will tell what actually transpires.
