UFC Legend Delivered Ruthless Dig At NBA Star For "Stupid" Jon Jones Take

This UFC legend went off on an NBA player.

One UFC Hall of Famer is having a good laugh at an NBA star who thinks he can beat Jon Jones in an MMA fight.

Recently, 14-year NBA veteran James Johnson took to the "NBA Rookie Life" podcast to express his belief that he could defeat Jones one-on-one, and he wasn't talking about a game of pickup basketball. He was referring to actual fighting. Johnson's argument was that he learned the standup game far sooner in his life than Jones did. At the very least, he did mention that Jones has been grappling significantly longer than he has.

Needless to say, the MMA community has poked fun at Johnson over his comments. Jon Jones is widely considered to be one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, while Johnson hasn't had a single professional fight that can be verified.

NBA VET JAMES JOHNSON: I'LL BEAT UFC CHAMP JON JONES WITH 1 YEAR OF TRAINING

It has been claimed online that Johnson has a kickboxing record of 20-0, and a 7-0 MMA record. Neither claim has been proven, and Michael Bisping even did some digging himself. In a new video posted on his YouTube channel, the UFC legend said he couldn't find anything that gave credence to Johnson's fighting experience.

"There's none [James Johnson fighter searches] that are 7-0, there's none that are 6'8, there's none that are basketball players," Bisping said. "This guy's having a laugh, he's out of his goddamn mind."

The UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC middleweight champion went on to say that Johnson claiming he could beat Jones is the same as if he were to say he's ready to play in the NBA.

"That's like me saying, 'Listen, give me a year, I will learn how to play basketball even though I've only got one eye and no depth perception whatsoever. I've got the feet, I've got the skills, I've got the cardio, I've got the will to win,'" Bisping said. "It's nonsense, it's stupid, okay. This guy's fights can't be found anywhere. Even if he is 20-0 in kickboxing, we all know someone that's a British kickboxing champion or a regional kickboxing champion, and when you look at the fights there was seven people in a sports hall, and the opponent was well out of shape and never trained in his life and he gets given a big shiny medal and a belt. All of a sudden they're a champion."
