The first victory of Adel Khaldoune’s pro MMA career came in sensational fashion when he floored Georges N’Goma in the opening seconds of their fight in France.

The two featherweights were matched up in the opening bout of Hexagone MMA 8 in Béziers, and both men entered the night looking to pick up the very first win of their respective careers.

Khaldoune put together an unbeaten record as an amateur fighter but came up short on the scorecards when he made his pro debut earlier this year. That split decision loss certainly must have been on his mind heading into the fight with N’Goma, because it only took 16 seconds for Khaldoune to end things with a brutal knockout.

The Frenchman certainly appeared to be full of confidence from the start of the fight, and after working N’Goma towards the fence he landed a perfect right hand that sent his opponent face first into the canvas.

The knockout victory was a fantastic way to start Hexagone MMA 8, which featured talent from France and several other European countries leading up to the main event between Dean Garnett and Lucas Corbage for the promotion’s vacant featherweight title.

It wasn’t until 2020 that MMA became legal in France, but regional promotions like Ares FC and Hexagone MMA have quickly become proving grounds for some of the country’s best fighters.

The UFC has steadily started adding more French talent over the last several years, and the promotion is set to return to Paris in September with a card headlined by former interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane taking on Serghei Spivac.
