Conor McGregor Gives Update on UFC Return That’s ‘Bigger’ Than the Super Bowl

'The Notorious' delivers a much-needed announcement.

Conor McGregor is wanting to fight sooner rather than later.

Earlier this week, UFC CEO Dana White said that they're currently working on making the super-fight between McGregor and Michael Chandler a reality after almost a year of waiting. But, the wait isn't over yet as White says the clash is targeted for the fall.

McGregor isn't a fan of his bosses' timeframe and proposed his own ahead of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday.

The former two-division champion has expressed much interest in fighting 'Iron' Chandler on June 29th during the UFC's always-massive International Fight Week.

With a marquee name like his on the card, McGregor believes his highly-anticipated return to the UFC could trump that of this year's Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

McGregor coming back to the UFC is easier said than done, though. The Irish star hasn't fought since breaking his leg to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back July 2021.

The ex-champion has had to clear the hurdles that come with extensive recovery, drug testing and an acting debut in 'Road House'. Now he faces another obstacle: getting a fight booked, which we have yet to see.

We'll see if the UFC can bring the box-office McGregor vs. Chandler fight to their end zone before the fall. Until then, the promotion is putting on a 'Super Bowl' of their own at UFC 300... which still needs a main event, two months out.
