Featherweight titleholder Ilia Topuria is ready to face Max Holloway after “Blessed" scored the biggest victory of his career at UFC 300 last weekend.

The attention of combat sports fans around the world was firmly focused on UFC 300 last Saturday night, and the stacked event delivered on all expectations with some tremendous fights and incredible finishes all throughout the night.

Perhaps no performance was more impressive than when Holloway dismantled Justin Gaethje before scoring an epic buzzer-beater knockout in their 'BMF' title fight, and now Topuria is eager to welcome the former champion back down to the featherweight division.

“Blessed” noted in the lead up and aftermath of UFC 300 that a win over Gaethje would leave him with several options for his next fight, and Holloway was quick to respond to Topuria and sign off on the idea of a featherweight title bout later this year.

The chances of Holloway ever reclaiming his featherweight belt seemed slim when the Hawaiian suffered his third loss to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 276, but after Volkanovski lost his belt to Topuria earlier this year it immediately sparked discussion around how “Blessed” might match up with the new champion.

Holloway has now won three-straight bouts following his last loss to Volkanovski, and after the 32-year-old’s incredible performance at UFC 300 fans will also be eager to see if and when he decides to test himself in the lightweight division again.
