UFC News: Alexander Volkanovski Reminisces About Title Reign in Hilarious Video

"The Great" shares stories of his fighting exploits with some coworkers on a job site.

Alexander Volkanovski certainly hasn’t lost his sense of humor after his lengthy reign as UFC featherweight champion was ended by Ilia Topuria earlier this year.

“The Great” surprised fans by flexing his acting chops with his “Old Man Volk” routine ahead of a matchup with Topuria at UFC 298, but after suffering a knockout-loss in that fight the Australian has been relatively quiet as he presumably considers the next step for his career.

The 35-year-old has once again put together a short skit that he shared on social media, and this time the video sees the former champion working a construction job as he reflects on career highlights like his first double-champ bid against Islam Makhachev and escaping Brian Ortega’s incredibly-tight guillotine choke at UFC 266.

Volkanovski also got to mention the fact that he holds three victories over Max Holloway, who put one of the most sensational performances in MMA history at UFC 300 last weekend when he largely out struck Justin Gaethje for five rounds before he scored a last-second knockout to become "BMF" champion.

“The Great” was one of countless fighters and fans that watched UFC 300, and Volkanovski also made sure to share his live reaction to the final seconds of Holloway vs. Gaethje and the final right hand that put “The Highlight” face down on the canvas.

Holloway’s path to reclaiming the featherweight belt appeared to be closed after he suffered his third loss to Volkanovski, but now even Topuria seems open to a fight with “Blessed” after he previously expressed disinterest in facing most of the featherweight division’s perennial top contenders.

A title fight between Topuria and Holloway would put Volkanovski’s hopes for an immediate rematch with "El Matador" on the backburner, but the 35-year-old may benefit from some time off to recover from back-to-back knockouts after he also stepped up on short notice for a rematch with Makhachev at UFC 294.
