Top Basketball Recruit Sees NIL Valuation Skyrocket After Duke Commitment

The top recruit in the Class of 2024 committed to Duke and his NIL valuation has gone through the roof.

Cooper Flagg, the top recruit in the Class of 2024 and the anticipated top overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, committed to Duke on Monday. He did so while gracing the cover of SLAM Magazine, and one of the most prized recruits in recent memory is heading to one of the bluebloods of college basketball.

As a result, Flagg's social media following has gone off the charts. On top of that, his NIL valuation has also skyrocketed since he announced his commitment.

Flagg's NIL valuation has grown by $21,000 since the announcement, and he is now the second-highest valued high school layer behind only Bryce James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James (h/t Pete Nakos of On3). Flagg's valuation is at $893,000, and it's only been a few days since he chose Duke.

Flagg burst onto the basketball scene at Montverde Academy last season, and his performance at Nike’s EYBL E16 Circuit and Peach Jam made scouts instantly flock to see him in person.

Flagg has also seen his social media following grow across the board on Instagram, TikTok, and X, and he has added 23,000 followers in just a matter of days.

Duke is known for its one-and-done stars coming and going, and Flagg likely will follow that path with NBA scouts and analysts already circling his name as the potential No. 1 pick in 2025.

But, if the early signs are any indication, the NIL valuation for Cooper Flagg is going to overtake Bryce James.
