In this story:

Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen has grabbed plenty of sneaker headlines this spring. Not only did he sell a pair of Michael Jordan's game-worn Air Jordans from the 1992 Summer Olympics, but some of his old-school kicks enjoyed a retro release last month in Bulls colors.

Much to our surprise at the time, the Nike Air Max Uptempo '95 "Bulls Away" colorway sat on shelves after its release day. Now, the iconic sneakers are 20% off for a limited time as part of Nike's online sales event.

The Nike Air Max Uptempo '95 "Bulls Away" colorway released on March 13, 2026. The retro basketball shoes had a retail price of $170 in adult sizes, but are temporarily marked down to $136 (20% off) by using the promo code "LASTSHOT" at Nike.com.

Fans who miss the online sales event might still be able to find the kicks at a discount. The shoes are available below the retail price on trusted sneaker resale websites like StockX and GOAT. However, they could also accidentally purchase the 2019 version of the shoe.

The Nike Air Max Uptempo '95 has dropped in several new and OG colorways. But the Bulls-themed designs are considered the most popular by old-school sneakerheads. The "Bulls Away" colorway sports a University Red leather upper contrasted with Black synthetic material on wrapping around the base of the shoes.

The White detailing and iconic Nike Swoosh logos with the Nike Air branding remain true to the original shoe Pippen wore during the height of his playing career. Lastly, the Uptempo logo pops off the heel tabs in University Red.

Much like many of us, the Nike Air Max Uptempo '95 is no longer considered up for competitive basketball games. However, it still features respectable performance technology from its era: a Max Air unit for lightweight cushioning and superior impact absorption. Meanwhile, the Phylon foam midsole provides flexible, lightweight cushioning for a smooth ride.

Meanwhile, the Gilly lacing system offers an easy on-off fit. Lastly, the aggressive rubber outsole is super durable and good to be worn off the hardwood. The Nike Air Max Uptempo '95 has undergone subtle upgrades for casual use with a clean look and hiking-boot-inspired details.

Pippen was a Nike athlete throughout his entire Basketball Hall of Fame career. The ultimate sidekick even had his own signature sneaker line alongside teammate Michael Jordan. The Nike Air Max Uptempo '95 is not Pippen's most famous shoe, but it is still considered an iconic model from the middle of the golden era of basketball shoes.

Pippen's playing career is long over, but his mark on the sport and sneaker industry will last forever. Stay locked into Sports Illustrated's Kicks On SI for all your footwear news from the NBA and beyond.
