Paragould hires Trumann's Randy Phillips as head football coach

The Paragould School District announced Randy Phillips as the program's next head football coach on Tuesday night.
Phillips takes over the Rams after serving in the same position at Trumann since 2020 where he took the Wildcats to the 4A playoffs all three seasons. Phillips was the offensive coordinator at DeWitt for five seasons before he took over at Trumann.
Paragould went 1-9 in 2022, including 0-7 in 5A-East play under David Gunn, who resigned in January after one season.

Along with High School on SI, his work has been featured in outlets including the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Arkansas PBS, Best of Arkansas Sports, Hooten's Arkansas Football and The Natural State Sports Network. He is also the color commentator for 103.7 The Buzz's high school football Game of the Week.
