Keith Fimple tabbed new athletic director for Springdale Public Schools

Fimple has led Conway football for the past five seasons

Conway head football coach Keith Fimple was named the new athletic director of Springdale Public Schools during a board meeting held on Tuesday evening. 

In a somewhat surprising announcement, Fimple returns to Northwest Arkansas where he most recently served as defensive coordinator at Springdale Har-Ber prior to taking the Conway job in 2018. Fimple compiled a 44-17 record in five seasons and took the Wampus Cats to the Class 7A playoffs every year, including semifinal finishes the past three years.

The Alma native has also served as an assistant at El Dorado, Fort Smith Southside, and Fayetteville, as well as in the collegiate ranks at Henderson State University.

Fimple replaces Wayne Stehlik who stepped down from the position in April after 12 years to become the Director of Development for athletics, a new position within the district that Stehlik will begin in August.
