Watch: Brooke Demetre, Mater Dei outlast Corona Centennial in overtime in epic CIFSS championship victory

CORONA– Mater Dei has already had a litany of unforgettable wins over the past two seasons coming into the 2020-21 section championship game. But Thursday's 83-80 overtime victory at Corona Centennial, won on a buzzer-beating three by Lani White, will go down as the thriller to top them all.
The Monarchs trailed for most of the game, and twice by double-digits. Stanford-commit Brooke Demetre scored 20 first-half points to keep them in it when Centennial threatened to blow the game open multiple times. She finished with a game-high 28 points, most coming off difficult, contested buckets, to go with 10 rebounds and the game-winning assist to White. White finished with 17 points and Caia Elisaldez added 16.
Londynn Jones led the Huskies with 25 points, Jayda Curry scored 23, and Layla Curry scored 17.
