CORONA– Corona Centennial routed Mission Viejo 62-16 on Friday in a postseason matchup of the state's two top public school programs of the past decade.

The fourth-seeded Huskies' quarterfinal victory took place in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs, and they will host No. 1 Mater Dei in the semis. The fifth-seeded Diablos played them close up in the first half, and at one point cut the deficit to 14-13 in the second quarter. But Centennial went on to finish the game on a 48-3 run.

Izzy Carter threw two touchdown passes and ran for two touchdowns and 125 yards for the Huskies. Carson Conklin threw a touchdown pass and ran for a touchdown. Malachi Riley, Demarieon Young, and Nathan Jimenez caught for a touchdown each, and Jayson Cortes, Cornell Hatcher Jr., and Cameron Jones all finished with one rushing touchdown.

Kenny Manassero and Daniel Dominguez each ran for a touchdown for Mission Viejo.
