The second week of the 2021 Los Angeles City Section high school football playoffs took place on Friday. Teams competing in the Open Division played first round games and teams in Divisions 1-3 played quarterfinal games.

Here’s everything you need to know about the second week of postseason action.

OPEN DIVISION (BRACKET)

The Open Division went as expected with four lopsided scores. No. 1 Banning took down No. 8 Garfield 37-6. Pilots QB Andrew Devoe completed 9 of 13 passes for 205 yards and three touchdowns. Fernando Rendon had five receptions for 125 yards and the three scores. Seth Fao caught five passes for 116 yards.

Banning will face No. 5 Birmingham in the second round. The Patriots beat up No. 4 Lincoln on the road 52-0. Senior Arlis Boardingham caught three touchdown passes and passed for a touchdown. Senior Delamonte Barnes rushed for 195 yards and scored two touchdowns.

On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 San Pedro beat No. 7 Roosevelt 42-0. Aidan Jackson threw for two touchdowns and rushed for a third. Both TD's went to Rob Sarmiento. San Pedro will meet No. 3 Palisades in the semifinals after the Dolphins won their opening round game over South Gate 60-21. Palisades set a school record for points in a playoff game in the win. Dolphins QB Sammy Silvia threw four touchdowns in the first half.

DIVISION 1 (Bracket)

Division 1 had much more drama than the Open. No. 1 seed Dorsey needed double overtime to beat No. 9 Cleveland 34-28, but it wasn't without controversy. The Dons won the game on a fourth and 20 touchdown pass thrown by Josh Coleman, but before that the Cavaliers thought they'd won the game on a touchdown that was negated by an offensive pass interference penalty. Dorsey came back from a 21-0 deficit to win.

In the semifinals, Dorsey will host No. 13 Canoga Park who took down No. 12 Arleta 27-6. Kayden Collins ran for 253 yards and had touchdown runs of 98 and 67 yards in the win.

In the No. 6 vs. No. 3 quarterfinal battle, No. 3 Reseda beat Eagle Rock 20-13. The Regents shut out the Eagles in the second half and Reseda QB Anthony Morris completed 12 of 20 passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns on the day.

No. 2 Venice had an easy time with No. 10 South East winning 47-16. They'll host Reseda in the semifinals. Romeo Signore rushed for three touchdowns in Venice's win.

DIVISION 2 (Bracket)

Three out of the four Division 2 quarterfinal games were blowouts.

No. 1 El Camino Real beat No. 8 Jefferson 35-6. Ryan Feinberg connected with Luke Peffer for two touchdowns in the win.

No. 4 Westchester beat No. 12 Hawkins 49-12. No. 1 El Camino Real will host No. 4 Westchester in the semifinals.

On the other side of the bracket, Western League fans will get a league rematch in the semifinals as No. 3 Hamilton beat No. 6 Verdugo Hills 48-16 and No. 2 Fairfax beat MACES 30-14. When these teams met in the regular season, Fairfax won 26-21 on the road. The Lions will host the semifinal showdown.

DIVISION 3 (Bracket)

In Division 3, No. 1 Taft had an easy time against View Park winning 43-8. Caden Cowles returned a View Park fumble 58 yards for a touchdown in the victory.

No. 4 Narbonne beat No. 5 Manual Arts 28-8. Gaucho QB Ryan Corley threw four touchdown passes with two going to Antonio Villegas. He also tossed a 65-yard TD pass to Leo Balanza. Taft will host Narbonne next week in the semifinals.

No. 3 Panorama beat No. 6 Sylmar 38-7 and No. 2 San Fernando shutout No. 7 New Designs Watts 35-0. Panorama now travels to San Fernando for next week's semifinal game. San Fernando beat Panorama 13-0 earlier this season in Valley Mission League play.
