Watch: No. 1 Mater Dei's defense dominates in 27-7 Southern Section championship win over Servite

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Mater Dei put on a dominant defensive performance to defeat rival Servite 27-7 for a CIF Southern Section Division 1 football title Friday night in Southern California.
OLB Tanner Williams (2 sacks) and DE/OLB David Bailey (1.5 sacks) led an explosive attack by Mater Dei's front seven. RB/DB Quincy Craig ran for a touchdown and forced a fumble, which was recovered by CB Cameron Sidney, who also had multiple pass break-ups. DB Jeilani Davis grabbed an interception in the fourth quarter as well.
RB Raleek Brown led Mater Dei's offense by rushing for 164 yards and a touchdown. QB Elijah Brown and WR C.J. Williams connected for a touchdown, and RB Ajon Bryant ran for a 27-yard TD as well.
Servite WR/S Tetairoa McMillan caught for 68 yards and a touchdown thrown by QB Noah Fifita, and also recorded an interception. OLB Zion Sims also grabbed a pick for Servite.
Mater Dei will advance to the CIF State Open Division finals as the heavy favorite to secure an undefeated season, state title, and undisputed national championship.
