Live updates and recaps from the State Preview Classic boys basketball showcase presented by SBLive

ONTARIO, Calif. -- Colony High School will host eight boys high school basketball games on Saturday for the annual State Preview Classic presented by SBLive Sports. Rolling Hills Prep head coach Harvey Kitani and Colony head coach Jerry De Fabiis organized the event. Nine of the 16 teams playing are currently ranked in the SBLive California Boys Basketball Top 25 rankings.

Game 8: Corona Centennial 72 Crean Lutheran 57

Corona Centennial jumped out to a 28-14 lead and went on to win 72-57 to beat Crean Lutheran for the second time this season. Junior sharpshooter Jared McCain paced the Huskies with 23 points hitting four threes. Aaron McBride put in 17 points for Corona Centennial. Crean Lutheran hung around but could only get as close as seven points in the second half. VJ Miller scored 20 for the Saints and Darrell Morris added 19.
Game 7: Etiwanda 53 Colony 52

In a game that could potentially lead to a Southern Section Open Division playoff berth, Etiwanda hung on to beat Colony 53-52 in game seven. After a missed Jimmy Baker free throw, Colony called a timeout trailing by one with 16 seconds left. Junior Titans guard Kollen Murphy drove to the hoop with his left hand out of the timeout, but his layup attempt rimmed out. Etiwanda senior guard Kwinten Crenshaw grabbed the rebound and was fouled with 1.7 seconds left. Crenshaw missed the ensuing free throw, but Etiwanda senior forward Quenton Webb snagged the offensive rebound and time ran out.
Baker led Etiwanda with 12 points as the Eagles had a balanced scoring attack. Jacob Barcelo scored 11 points, Webb put in 10, Channing Cade scored seven, Curtis Williams had six points that all came in the third quarter and Crenshaw scored five.
Minnesota commit Jaden Henley led Colony with 19 points. Denzel Hines scored 12 points for the Titans and Kollen Murphy had 10.
One night before beating Colony, Etiwanda took down Baseline League rival Damien 45-39 at home on Friday. If the Eagles end up qualifying for the Open Division playoffs in the Southern Section remember this weekend...
Game 6: Harvard-Westlake 79 Birmingham 55

In game six, Harvard-Westlake led from start to finish. Senior Penn commit Cameron Thrower scored 23 points for the Wolverines. Junior forward Brady Dunlap added 22 and sophomore Trent Perry scored 11. Senior Kory Blunt finished with a team high 18 points for Birmingham.
Game 5: St. Anthony 60 Capistrano Valley Christian 59

In a game that came down to the final seconds, St. Anthony hung on to beat Capistrano Valley Christian 60-59. After St. Anthony senior Jaayden Bush made a left-handed lay up to put the Saints ahead 60-59 with eight seconds left, Capistrano Valley Christian couldn't get a shot off at the end of the game. Kaih Williams and Mac West had each fouled out in the fourth quarter for Capo Valley Christian. West led Capo Valley Christian with 22 points in the loss. St. Anthony senior Elijah Price scored a team high 22 points for the Saints. Bush finished the game with 13.
Game 4: Los Altos 61 Hillcrest 51
In game four of the State Preview Classic, Jazz Gardner and Los Altos won the battle of the bigs against Dennis Evans and Hillcrest 61-50. Both Gardner and Evans stand at 7-feet tall and are top recruits in the 2023 recruiting class. Gardner and senior guard CJ Bellamy scored 18 points each in the win for Los Altos. Evans scored 13 points for Hillcrest and sophomore Deshawn Gorey put in 15 for the Trojans.
Game 3: Rolling Hills Prep 68 Saugus 58

Saugus senior Brandon Perez got hot early hitting five first half threes as the Centurions took a 30-26 lead into halftime. Perez had 21 points at the break. In the second half, Rolling Hills Prep took control and went on to win 68-58. Senior forward Seydina Thiombane paced Rolling Hills Prep with 21 points. He was named the SBLive Sports player of the game (pictured above). Senior Stanford commit Benny Gealer scored 14 points and had a handful of pretty assists. Perez finished with 25 points for Saugus. Davis White scored 14 points.
Game 2: St. Francis 64 Long Beach Poly 60

Fourteen hours after beating Notre Dame 62-59 in overtime to pick up a key Mission League win, St. Francis took down Long Beach Poly 64-60 thanks to 28 points from Carnegie Mellon bound senior Buckley DeJardin. The Golden Knights jumped out to an early first quarter lead but Long Beach Poly fought back and after three quarters St. Francis led by just one, 49-48. St. Francis outscored Poly 15-12 in the fourth quarter to win.
Senior Long Beach Poly sharpshooter Gabe Cummings scored 18 first half points on six threes and ended with 20 points. Jackrabbit senior guard Christian Watson scored 19 points in the loss.
Game 1: Rancho Verde 61 Oak Hills 51

Rancho Verde built an early lead and never looked back en route to a 61-51 win in game one. The Mustangs overcame big man Jacob McFarland fouling out with 6:20 to play in the third quarter to come out on top. McFarland scored five points and had four impressive blocks before leaving the game. The SBLive Player of the game honor went to Rancho Verde senior Khemanni Davis, who scored a game high 22 points. Michael Miller and Johnny Castellanos each scored 14 points for Oak Hills in the loss.
