Phillips scores game-high 22 points as Crusaders win their fifth D1 section title

SACRAMENTO - Jamari Phillips scored a game-high 22 points to guide Modesto Christian over Sheldon 52-42 on Saturday night in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 boys basketball championship game at the Golden 1 Center.

It marked the fifth Division 1 section title for the Crusaders (26-5).

Modesto Christian outscored Sheldon 17-12 in the final quarter en route to the victory.

The Huskies (22-10) were led by Rashaud Bradley and Donovan Morgan with nine points each.
