Highlights and photos: Lawson Minshew, Gavin Lass push Madison to 3-1 win over Montgomery

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Gavin Lass' two-run single in the fifth inning turned out to be the difference on Wednesday afternoon as Madison took down visiting Montgomery, 3-1.
The Warhawks struck first on an RBI single by junior Jake Jackson in the third inning before Montgomery evened the score on a wild pitch in the top half of the fifth inning. Lass came to the plate in the bottom half of the inning with the bases loaded and sent the 3-2 offering up the middle to give Madison the lead for good.
Junior right-hander Lawson Minshew was nearly perfect on the mound, going all seven innings while allowing one hit and striking out nine.
