Here are SBLive’s fifth Top 10 LA City Section high school baseball rankings of the season. The rankings are compiled by SBLive California reporter Connor Morrissette and are released weekly.

SBLIVE’S LA CITY SECTION TOP 10 BASEBALL RANKINGS

March 21, 2021

1. Granada Hills (9-2-1)

Last week: 2

Pitchers Drew Gustafson and Brandon Garfinkel combined to shutout Newbury Park last week 4-0, the No. 16 team in SBLive's Southern Section baseball rankings. The victory pushes Granada Hills back to No. 1. 

2. Birmingham (9-3)

Last week: 1

The Patriots shutout Temple City and Chaminade last week before losing 5-4 to Paraclete. 

3. Cleveland (8-4)

Last week: 3

Cleveland has won seven of its last eight games. 

4. El Camino Real (7-5)

Last week: 4

ECR recorded one of the best City Section vs. Southern Section wins of the year beating Arcadia, the No. 17 team in SBLive's Southern Section baseball rankings, 3-2 in extra innings last week. 

5. Palisades (5-1-1)

Last week: 8

Palisades has won four City Section games in a row including a 2-0 win over No. 6 Roosevelt last Friday. That victory pushes the Dolphins to No. 5 this week. 

6. Roosevelt (9-4)

Last week: 5

Roosevelt has an impressive resume with wins over No. 8 Chatsworth and Paraclete, a team Birmingham lost to 5-4 last week. 

7. Sylmar (5-4-1)

Last week: 6

Sylmar picked up a marquee 5-4 win over No. 8 Chatsworth on March 5th. The Spartans swept San Fernando in Valley Mission League play last week. 

8. Chatsworth (7-5)

Last week: 7

Chatsworth has an extra innings win over No. 5 Palisades on its resume, but losses to No. 6 Roosevelt and No. 7 Sylmar puts the Chancellors at No. 8 this week. 

9. San Pedro (3-5)

Last week: 9

The Pirates thumped Venice 12-0 two weeks ago but then received a thumping of their own losing 12-2 to No. 5 Roosevelt on March 12th. The Pirates were supposed to play No. 3 Cleveland on Saturday, but umpires never showed up and the game was cancelled. 

10. Hamilton (8-4)

Last week: 10

Hamilton is 6-1 against LA City Section teams this season. The Yankees' best win came against Taft 8-7 on March 2nd. Last week, Hamilton split two Western League games with unranked LACES losing the second contest 3-2 in extra innings.
