ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Servite pitcher Xavier Cardenas struck out nine Santa Margarita hitters to lead the Friars to a 7-2 Trinity League win on Tuesday. Cardenas is committed to San Diego State.

The victory snaps a three game losing skid for Servite and gives Santa Margarita its first loss of the season. Servite is now 6-3 on the season and 1-3 in Trinity League play. Santa Margarita falls to 12-1 overall and 3-1 in the league.

Servite and Santa Margarita will play two more games this week on Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday's game is at Santa Margarita. The series finishes on Friday back at Servite.
