Congratulations to Morse baseball SS/P Alex Leyva for being voted SBLive’s Southern California High School Athlete of the Week for March 14-20!

The sophomore went 10-11 at the plate last week to help the Tigers win three games.

Leyva received 55.57% of the vote, beating out La Costa Canyon's Gabe Camacho who finished second with 41.51% of the vote. Viewpoint's Peyton Rohr finished third with 2.46% and Milken's Solomon Margolis finished fourth with 0.21%. There were over 54,000 votes tallied this week!

Jose Mariano, Valencia baseball: Mariano hit two home runs and drove in seven runs in Saturday's win over Chatsworth.

Alejandro Rangel, Jurupa Hills baseball: Rangel was 8-13 with four doubles in four-game last week for the Spartans.

Gabriel Hernandez, Barstow baseball: Hernandez struck out 12 batters for the second consecutive game in Thursday's 2-1 loss to Victor Valley.

Trevor Hansen, Royal baseball: Hansen pitched six innings and allowed one hit while striking out ten in Tuesday's 6-0 win against St. Bonaventure.

Ryan Spshyock, Dos Pueblos baseball: Spshyock tossed a one-hit shutout and struck out 15 batters and also hit a solo home run in Friday's win over Central Valley Christian.

Solomon Margolis, Milken baseball: Margolis allowed three hits, one run, and struck out 15 in last week's win over Oakwood.

Jordan Davis, Baldwin Park baseball: Davis went 5-5 with two doubles in Thursday's 11-1 win over Chino.

Ryan Rivera, San Marcos baseball: Rivera went 3-5 with a home run, two doubles, and eight runs batted in against San Pasqual last week.

Sam Garewal, Canyon Crest baseball: Garewal tossed a two-hitter and struck out 16 batters to help the Ravens take down Torrey Pines, 2-0, on Monday.

Kian Sanchez, Canyon Crest baseball: Sanchez homered in both games last week, helping the Ravens beat Torrey Pines and Classical Academy.

Gabe Camacho, La Costa Canyon baseball: Camacho went 3-4 with a home run, double, and two runs batted in against San Pasqual on Thursday.

Carlos Cerda, Olympian baseball: Cerda tossed a four-hit shutout and struck out 11 in Monday's 1-0 win over Coronado.

Jade Ignacio, El Camino softball: Ignacio homered in back-to-back games last week against Ramona and San Dieguito.

Sophia Ramuno, Helix softball: Ramuno struck out 11 batters in only five innings during Saturday's 11-1 win over Olympian.

Candace Tarle, Cathedral Catholic softball: Tarle struck out ten batters and allowed only one hit in Saturday's win over Clairemont.

Cambria Salmon, Beaumont softball: Salmon allowed one hit and stuck out 15 batters in Saturday's 1-0 win over Rancho Cucamonga.

Peyton Rohr, Viewpoint softball: Rohr threw a no-hitter and struck out 14 in Friday's win over Crossroads.

Dani Jackman, University Prep softball: Jackman had four hits including three home runs and a double in last week's win over United Christian Academy.

Mira Olvera, Rancho Mirage softball: Olvera had 12 hits and seven stolen bases across five games last week.

Jaelin Haynes, Citrus Valley softball: Haynes had four hits and five stolen bases in last week's 9-4 win over Los Osos.
