Class of 2023 Scripps Ranch quarterback Jax Leatherwood committed to the University of Nevada, Reno on Tuesday morning, he announced on Twitter.
The six-foot-six Leatherwood led the Falcons to a 13-1 record during his first season as the starting quarterback while capturing the San Diego Section Division II Championship as well as the CIF State Division 2-A Championship. Leatherwood completed just under 70% of his passes for the season, surpassing 3,900 passing yards and 52 touchdowns while throwing only two interceptions.

The three-sport standout moved onto the hardwood after football season and helped lead the Falcons to a win over Justin-Siena in the CIF Division IV State Championship game, blocking eight shots in the final game. Now in the spring season, Leatherwood and the Falcons currently sit at 14-6 on the volleyball court.
Leatherwood chose the Wolf Pack over an offer from San Diego State and becomes the first football prospect in San Diego's class of 2023 to make a college decision.
