POINT LOMA, Calif. -- Eastlake jumped out to an early lead on Wednesday afternoon, scoring two runs in each the second and third innings against Point Loma. The Titans would add seven more runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach in the final pool play game of the San Diego Lions Tournament. Point Loma was unable to cut into the deficit in their fifth inning at-bat, putting the mercy rule into effect, completing Eastlake's 11-0 victory.
Junior Daniel Mora led Eastlake at the plate with two hits including an RBI double in the seven-run fourth inning. Isaiah Martinez delivered on the mound for the Titans, scattering three hits over five shutout innings while striking out seven Point Loma batters.
