Watch: Sage Hill girls basketball defeats Ontario Christian in first ever Open Division playoff game
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Sage Hill made the most of its first Open Division playoff game in program history on Saturday, beating fifth seed Ontario Christian 63-53 in pool play.
The fourth-seeded Lightning led for nearly the entire game and featured a balanced scoring attack. Emily Eadie led the way with 16 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists, Zoie Lamkin and Amalia Holguin each scored 12 points, Annabelle Spotts had 11 points and 10 boards, and Kat Righeimer added 9 points.
Washington commit Chloe Briggs scored 29 points for the Knights, with 20 coming in the second half. Julia Lavigne scored 12 points and Dejah Saldivar had 6.
The matchup marked the third CIFSS postseason in a row in which the teams met, and was their fourth in the last two calendar years, with Sage Hill winning all four.
