The four teams, St. Augustine, Carlsbad, Montgomery, and San Ysidro all held serve in the opening round of the bracket, setting up two great semifinals matchups on Wednesday night.

Below is a recap of all four opening round games from Friday night.
(1) St. Augustine 88, (8) Mater Dei Catholic 62
The Saints led 2019 after one quarter and held a 10-point lead after three quarters before putting the game out of reach with a huge fourth quarter. They're one win away from their fifth Open Division championship game appearance since the format began in 2013-14.
(4) San Ysidro 79, (5) La Costa Canyon 73
The Cougars shared the ball, leading to four players in double figures led by Mikey Williams' 20 points. Williams also had 10 assists while fellow Memphis-signee JJ Taylor had 18 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
San Ysidro will head to St. Augustine in the semifinals in a matchup that pits Mikey Williams against former teammate Jurian Dixon. The two seniors captured a CIF title during their freshman seasons at San Ysidro.
(3) Montgomery 69, (6) Santa Fe Christian 60
In a rematch of a game won by Santa Fe Christian less than two weeks ago, Montgomery led by as many as 22 points during the third quarter. The Eagles put together a run in the final quarter, twice cutting the lead to five but were unable to get any closer.
The Aztecs will travel to Carlsbad in the semifinals after winning their first Open Division game in their first appearance.
(2) Carlsbad 65, (7) Torrey Pines 57 (OT)
Carlsbad led by 12 points early in the second half before a Torrey Pines fourth quarter run briefly gave the Falcons a 50-49 lead in the final two minutes of regulation. Torrey Pines senior JJ Bartelloni tied the game with a three-pointer with eight seconds left that sent the game to overtime.
The Lancers were able to create enough offense in the extra period, ending the game on an 8-0 run for an eight-point victory. Underclassmen Jake Hall and Tony Duckett combined for 44 points in the win.
