Signing Day: Carter Bryant, Mercy Miller, Trent Perry highlight Southern California athletes

California's best high school basketball prospects put pen to paper on Signing Day, along with so many standout athletes

Signing Day is when dreams become a reality.

Wednesday student-athletes signed national letters of intent to their college of choice in pursuit of athletics at the next level. It takes tremendous discipline and countless hours of hard work to earn a Signing Day moment.

The young teenagers are all smiles, but so are the parents.

Many notable athletes in the Southland participated on early Signing Day, including Corona Centennial's Carter Bryant, Notre Dame's Mercy Miller and Harvard-Westlake's Trent Perry, three of Southern California's top boys basketball prospects.

Bryant signed to Arizona, Miller signed to Houston and Perry to USC. Bryant's teammate Eric Freeny signed to UCLA.

Many baseball players signed Wednesday, too.

Harvard-Westlake's Tommy Bridges (TCU), Bryce Rainer (Texas) and Duncan Marsten (Wake Forest) seal up their commitments.

Orange Lutheran had its bevvy of signees: Ben Reiland (Oklahoma State), Derek Curiel (LSU), Finnegan Stewart (Utah Tech), Nate Savoie (Loyola Marymount), Vinny Hudson (Arizona), Gabe Fraser (Arkansas) and Alex Chavez (Loyola Marymount).

Granada Hills Charter's Easton Hawk signed to UCLA. Hawk is one of the Los Angeles City Section's top baseball players.

Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks had four players sign: Nate Kugler (Dartmouth), Levi Sterling (Texas), Sam Petrocelli (Stanford) and Erik Puodziunas (Michigan).

Yucaipa's Danny Arambula signed to LSU, Noah Reimer is headed to Cal State Northridge and Wes Hickey will play at USC.
