Joshua Moore is a rising prospect in the state of Florida from the Class of 2025. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound wide receiver plays for West Broward High School in Pembroke Pines. He is quickly becoming one of the best playmakers in the region.

Through five games, Moore has caught 23 passes for 481 yards (20.9 avg) and five touchdowns. Against McCallie (TN), Moore torched the Tornadoes for seven receptions for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns. McCallie came into the season having won three-straight state championships. Moore also had six catches for 107 yards and one touchdown against Dwyer. He has averaged at least 17 yards per catch in four of five contests.

“I started first playing football when I was four years old,” said Moore. “I remember walking into the room seeing my momma crying and my dad watching football. My dad always told me he wanted me to play football, so I said dad I want to play football because I never want to see my momma cry.

"From there, I started playing football. Then actually I got hurt; I think I was eight years old. I was playing flag football and two of my front teeth got knocked out. I had to go into surgery. On that end I was about to quit, but my dad had to give me a little motivational speech and he brought me back on the field. From there, I just have been going up.”

West Broward is tucked away from the more bustled parts of metropolitan South Florida. The region is known for skilled, showtime prospects with a flair for the big play. And yet, Moore is keeping his audience right at home. It won’t take long for fans to recognize one of the best players on the Bobcats’ offense.

“They would see greatness; talent,” said Moore. “They would see a lot of hard work get put in. And they would see good technique and a nice young man.”

What cannot be overstated is Moore is just a sophomore. He is already making highlight and often game-changing plays as an underclassman.

Moore’s learning curve and progression as one of the top players in the state seems inevitable. That should be cause for concern for anyone matched against him on the line of scrimmage.

“I feel like I need to work on not getting driven out of bounds by the corner,” said Moore. "Also, my speed and high-pointing the ball; getting more aggressive and my footwork and body control.”

Moore’s production ranks with some of the best wide receivers in Broward County, per Future Draft Style. Names on that list include 4-star recruit Jeremiah Smith from Chaminade-Madonna and Ohio State commit Brandon Innis out of Plantation American Heritage.

“It’s exciting to me,” said Moore on being linked to those names. “It shows that my hard work is really paying off. I feel like I could have been higher on the list, but I had a bad game. I just got to improve.”

Moore’s first offer came from Georgia Tech. He also holds offers from Pittsburgh and Vanderbilt. Moore is currently unranked by 247 Sports and other recruiting services. However, that will likely change along with more schools offering.

“When I got that offer (Georgia Tech) I started crying,” said Moore. “It was so exciting and like a dream come true. That was my dream to play college football. To my parents it was very emotional, they started crying too. And only from there it was up. I want more, I’m still hungry.”
