Oakleaf’s Jason Price is voted SBLive’s Florida High School Boys Basketball Coach of the Week

Here's a look at Price’s coaching accomplishment

Congratulations to Oakleaf’s Jason Price, the winner of SBLive Florida's High School Boys Basketball Coach of Week award as voted by Florida high school sports fans.

Price, the head coach for Oakleaf, earned 55.93% of the 4,073 votes in a state-wide poll. The only one loss team in Jacksonville after Providence School lost Barron Collier. Oakleaf Knights went 2-0 last week, with wins over Atlantic Coast and Ridgeview. Price has the team 20-1 heading into the district tournament.

Here are all the other coaches that were nominated for Jan. 30-Feb. 4: 

Steve Fitzgerald, Victory Christian Academy: Winning your 500th career game and beating a state powerhouse? Why not? Fitzgerald pulled off both when his Victory Christian Academy Storm upended state-ranked Olympia 56-53. What a way to notch an historic achievement.

Jimmy Hebb, John Carroll Catholic:Another coach that reached a career mark was that of John Carroll Catholic's Jimmy Hebb. The Rams' lead man picked up win No. 200 when his led the team to a 75-24 win over Synergy School of Tomorrow. 

David Watts, Barron Collier: The win that was heard around the state. Watts led his Cougars to arguably their best victory of the season to date, beating a previous one-loss Providence School 79-72. Huge victory for Barron Collier heading into districts. 

Renaldo Garcia, Berkeley Prep: It was quite the week for Garcia and his Buccaneers. The Berkeley Prep bench boss guided his team to victories over Tampa Prep and defeated host Bartow at the Mosaic Stinger Shootout this past weekend.
