AJ Hairston, 3-star rated quarterback, commits to UMass over Miami (FL), Western Carolina, Western Michigan

COCONUT CREEK, FLORIDA- The UMass Minutemen got themselves a pretty good quarterback of the future down in South Florida.
Monarch (Florida) junior quarterback AJ Hairston announced via Twitter Friday night that he is committing to the Minutemen. The quarterback is a 3-star rated prospect according to 247Sports and also had offers on the table from Miami (FL), Wagner, Western Carolina and Western Michigan.

Through 12 games for the Knights last season, Hairston was one of the best signal callers in South Florida. The quarterback completed 195-of-287 passes for 3,217 yards, 32 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Hairston also isn’t afraid to take off and run with ball as he rushed for 347 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022.
Hairston returns for his senior season as a top passer in Broward County. Onlookers can get a look at Heinrich to start the 2023 season on August 24th in the Broward County Classic National Showcase when the Chiefs face Cedar Grove of Georgia.
