Carlos Mitchell, 3-star rated athlete, commits to North Carolina over Kentucky, Penn State & Purdue
LAKE WALES, FLORIDA- University of North Carolina’s Mack Brown has done a nice job of snagging some talent out of the Sunshine State.
On Sunday evening, he nabbed another talented athlete and this time from the 2022 Class 3S state champion Lake Wales Highlanders.
Lake Wales (Florida) junior wide receiver/defensive back Carlos Mitchell announced Sunday evening via Twitter that he is committing to the Tar Heels. The two-way athlete is a 3-star rated prospect according to 247Sports and also had offers on the table from Kentucky, Penn State, Purdue and USF.

When it comes to where exactly Mitchell will line up on the next level, one thing is clear: He will excel on either side of the ball.
Last season for the Class 3S state champions, Mitchell was a force on offense and defense. On offense, Mitchell hauled in 28 passes for 812 yards and 12 touchdowns and on the defensive side of the ball, as a junior notched 81 tackles and eight interceptions. Four of the eight picks Mitchell returned for touchdowns.
