Derrick McCormick, 3-star rated linebacker, commits to UCF over Appalachian State, Kansas & Pitt

ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA- It’s been a pretty nice recruiting weekend for Gus Malzahn’s UCF Knights.
A day after landing St. Thomas Aquinas tailback Stacy Gage, arguably one of the top running backs of the 2024 class, the Knights this time landed a player on the defensive side of the ball.
Rockledge (Florida) junior linebacker Derrick McCormick announced Sunday afternoon via Twitter that he is committing to the Knights. The linebacker is a 3-star rated prospect according to 247Sports and also had offers on the table from Arkansas State, Appalachian State, Kansas and Pittsburgh.
