Alberto Mendoza, 3-star quarterback, commits to James Madison over Bryant, Charlotte and UConn

MIAMI, FLORIDA- South Florida is rich in quarterback talent throughout Broward and Dade counties.

Columbus quarterback Alberto Mendoza led the Explorers to the Class 4M state championship in 2022 over Apopka and has been binding his time before selecting where he will be playing after his high school career.

On Friday evening, he let it be known where he will land.

The Columbus (Florida) senior quarterback announced Friday via Twitter that he is committing to James Madison. The signal-caller is a 3-star rated prospect according to 247Sports and also had offers on the table from Appalachian State, Bryant, Charlotte and UConn.

The 2022 campaign was a magical season for Mendoza, leading Columbus back to another state title and threw for 2,470 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Mendoza also had offers on the table from East Carolina, FIU, Fordham, UMass, Toledo, UAB, Duke and Florida Atlantic.
