Ricky Knight III, 4-star rated athlete, commits to Florida State over Illinois and Miami (FL)

WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA- When it comes to all-around athletes in Palm Beach County, Cardinal Newman athlete Ricky Knight III remained one of the most sought after available recruits. 

On Saturday afternoon, the chase for Knight III ended with garnett and gold as the colors of choice for his destination after high school. 

The Cardinal Newman (Florida) junior athlete announced Saturday afternoon via a live YouTube event with 247Sports that he is committing to Florida State. The two-way star is a 4-star rated prospect according to 247Sports and also had offers on the table from Illinois, Miami (FL), Iowa State and Louisville. 

On offense last season when at Benjamin, Knight III had a minimal role and caught four passes for 92 yards. It's on defense where Knight III made a name for himself, notching 33 tackles and an interception. 

Knight III also had offers from Florida A&M, Minnesota, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, Western Carolina and Wisconsin.
