High school football is off to a sensational start in Polk County, Florida. Just four weeks into the season, many players are beginning to rise to the top with outstanding performances, especially in Week 4.

Nine players were nominated this week for the SBLive’s Polk County Football Player of the Week award from September 11-16, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, September 24 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here are this week's nominations.

Brycen Levidiotis, Lake Wales, Quarterback

The junior was 13 of 18 passing for 186 yards with one touchdown while rushing four times for 35 yards during a 47-0 win at Lake Region. The defending state champion Highlanders are now 4-0 and have bye this week. 

Chad Williams, Auburndale, Quarterback

The sophomore was a perfect 11 of 11 passing for 193 yards with three touchdowns during a 50-0 win against Kissimmee Gateway. Williams has now thrown for 367 yards on the season. Auburndale is 3-0 will host undefeated Bartow on Friday.

Kaleef Valentine, Bartow, Quarterback

The senior was 9 of 17 passing for 135 yards with two touchdown strikes and one interception. He also rushed three times for 35 yards during a 45-14 win at Ridge Community. Valentine has 431 yards passing with seven touchdowns this season. Bartow is 4-0 and will travel to face unbeaten Auburndale Friday.

Carson Montsdecoca, Fort Meade, Quarterback

The senior was 17 of 27 passing for 246 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for 7 yards. He has racked up 534 yards passing with seven touchdowns on the season. Fort Meade is 3-0 and will travel to face Victory Christian Friday.

Keveun Mason, Fort Meade, Running Back

The junior rushed 19 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns against Mulberry. He also caught four passes for 60 yards. Mason has rolled up 568 yards rushing with five touchdowns on the season which includes a 57-yard run.

Cameron Turner, George Jenkins, Quarterback

The junior was 12 of 17 passing for 161 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions against Lake Weir. He also rushed for 41 yards on six carries. Turner has thrown for 634 yards and three touchdowns this season, which includes a 54-yard touchdown pass. Jenkins is now 3-0 on the season and ushers in its bye week. The Eagles will travel to face Kathleen on Sept. 29.

Joel Morris, Lake Gibson, Quarterback

The sophomore was 12 of 22 passing for 197 yards and one touchdown – an 82-yarder to senior wideout Kordell Lewis – during a loss to Lee County. He has completed 45 passes this year in 78 attempts while racking up 602 yards and five touchdowns. He has also rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Lake Gibson enters its bye week with a 3-1 record. The Braves will host crosstown rival Lakeland Sept. 29.

Zander Smith, Lakeland, Quarterback

The junior was 9 of 14 passing for 101 yards with one touchdown strike and no interceptions while leading the Class 4S defending state champion Dreadnaughts to a 26-0 win at Kissimmee Osceola. Smith has thrown for 701 yards this season with seven touchdown passes. Lakeland is now 2-2 this year and will travel to face Winter Haven (2-1) Friday.

Josh Bellamy, Lakeland Christian, Running Back

The junior rushed 12 times for 129 yards with three touchdowns during a thrilling 35-34 win at Zephyrhills Christian. He reeled off a 66-yard run in the process. He has 478 yards rushing on the season with six touchdowns. LCS is now 3-1 and will host Hardee (3-1) on Friday.
