Vote: North Central Florida high school football player of the week (11/19/2023)
The Florida High School Football Playoffs have begun and we continue our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances in the region quarterfinals.
As such, we have 10 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s North Central Florida high school football player of the week award from November 16-17, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, November 25th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.
Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are this week's nominations:
Preston Wright, QB, Trinity Catholic: The Trinity Catholic quarterback was lights out in a dominating 55-7 win over Holy Trinity Episcopal as Wright went 12-of-16 for 171 yards and four touchdowns.
Trenton Klein, QB/LB, Union County: Klein led the both on offense and defense for Union County as the two-way star threw for 172 yards, one touchdown, rushed for 53 on 12 carries and made nine tackles at linebacker.
Thomas Williams, RB, Union County: The Fightin Tigers' running back had a nice night on the ground in a 17-10 win over Fort White, rushing for 59 yards on 13 attempts.
CJ Ingram, QB, Hawthorne: There's not much that can faze Ingram nowadays. The Hawthorne junior quarterback had himself a big night in a 27-7 win over Newberry, throwing for two touchdowns and adding another two scores on the ground.
Andrew Zock, DL, Hawthorne: Zock and the Hornets defense put the clamps down on Newberry's offense. The defensive lineman led with a team-high 10 tackles, four for loss and two sacks.
Nathan Jennings, DB, Hawthorne: Jennings is just a freshman, but you wouldn't know it by his play on the field. The freshman defensive back made eight tackles and picked off a pass in the Hornets' win over Newberry.
Ja'mez Jamison, RB, Williston: The Red Devils amassed 334 yards of offense on the ground in a 52-17 region semifinal win over Pahokee. Jamison led all rushers with 100 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns.
Omarian Walker, ATH, Williston: Walker scored twice, once on offense and the other via special teams, in the Red Devils' win over Pahokee. The highlight touchdown was a 94-yard kickoff return for six.
Trace Johnson, QB, Buchholz: Despite a slew of players out because of sicknesses, Johnson was relied on to step up and he did. The Bobcats quarterback bounced back from throwing a pick six to throw multiple touchdowns in a 34-21 win over Ponte Vedra.
Kaleb Woods, RB, Newberry: Woods has been one of the area's top players all season long and he ended the season finding the endzone one more time. The tailback scored Newberry's lone touchdown in a 27-7 loss to Hawthorne.
