Vote: Florida state semifinals defensive football player of the week (12/4/2023)

The Florida High School Football Playoffs have begun and we continue our Player of the Week polls for regions all around the state. It's playoff time and plenty of players had some great individual defensive performances in the state semifinals.

As such, we have nine athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Florida state semifinals defensive football player of the week award from November 30-December 1, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, December 9th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominations:

Nick Bryan, DB, Cardinal Mooney: Nothing was getting past Bryan last week in Cardinal Mooney’s 41-14 romp over North Florida Christian as the defensive back intercepted four passes.

Collin Miller, DB, Bozeman: The strong safety had a strong performance for the Bucks, tallying 11 tackles in a 61-22 loss to Madison County.

Andrew Zock, LB, Hawthorne: The Navy commitment led the Hornets’ defense in a 49-0 1R state semifinal win over Blountstown with eight tackles and a fumble recovery.

Amarion Hover, LB, Blountstown: Hover did everything he could for the Tigers in the loss to Hawthorne, as he tallied 11 tackles.

Brayden Sullivan, LB, Plant: Though the Panthers lost to Columbus, the senior linebacker had a strong outing. Sullivan tallied a team-high 15 tackles for Plant.

Denzel Johnson, LB, Chaminade-Madonna: The senior linebacker racked up 12 tackles and one for a loss in a 47-7 rout of Archbishop Carroll last week in a 1M state semifinal.

Adrian Farrow, DE, Norland: Farrow was putting a ton of pressure on Bolles’ backfield, leading the defensive effort with four sacks in a 28-7 2M state semifinal win.

Keo Jenkins, DE, Clearwater Central Catholic: The junior defensive end notched three sacks in the Marauders’ 39-32 win over Trinity Christian Academy in a 1M state semifinal.

Drake Stubbs, DB, Mandarin: The talented junior defensive back was a big reason why the Mustangs are heading to the Class 4M state championship after intercepting two passes in a 51-21 win over Monarch.
