SBLive Sports Florida 2023 All-Tampa Bay Football Team
PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
Dallas Golden & Joseph Troupe, Berkeley Prep: Everyone can have their opinion on who may have meant the most to their respective teams, but the proof is in the proverbial pudding with this one. That’s because it ended with a state championship in hand and without Golden-Troupe, it’s hard to say that happens. The 1-2 punch on offense combined for nearly 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns this season for the Class 2M state champions. Golden played a lot of Wildcat quarterback in the state title win, ending the season with 1,467 yards, 19 touchdowns. Troupe was the battering ran for the Buccaneers, rushing 1,510 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Dominick Ciao, Berkeley Prep: There were a lot of great coaching jobs done this past season, but none better than the one Ciao did at Berkeley Prep. Between his time at Jesuit and Berkeley Prep, Ciao has been in search of the elusive state championship that’s eluded him until now. The 28-20 win over Miami Norland for the Class 2M state championship stunned the Sunshine State, but not those at Berkeley Prep. Undeterred by having a couple losses during the regular season, Ciao led his Buccaneers to wins over Calvary Christian in the region final and Plantation American Heritage en route to winning it all. It will be a season Ciao and the program forever remembers.
