Javion Hilson, 4-star edge rusher, flips from Alabama to Florida State
The trend of Alabama commitments deciding to reopen their options continued, but Tuesday afternoon was a flip.
Cocoa junior defensive end Javion Hilson announced via X, formerly known as Twitter, that he would be flipping his commitment from Alabama to Florida State.
Hilson originally decided to make the call on his college future after the Tigers’ 20-6 Class 2S state championship win, with the edge rusher committing to Alabama at the time.
Hilson is rated a 4-star edge rusher, according to 247Sports and also has offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and a slew of others.
The defensive end had put together a strong 2023 campaign, with Hilson racking up 90 tackles, 26 going for a loss and 14 sacks for the Class 2S state champion Tigers.
