Vote: Who is the Florida South Suncoast Boys Basketball Player of the Week (1/30/2024)?
The Florida High School Boys Basketball season is in full swing and we continue our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances.
As such, we have eight athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s South Suncoast high school boys basketball player of the week award from January 22-27, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, February 4th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Congratulations to Braden River’s Marcus Schade for winning last week’s South Suncoast poll!
Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.
Here are the nominees:
William Strawbridge, Bayshore: The junior guard led the Bruins in a 53-49 win over Brandon Academy, scoring a game-high 16 points.
Cooper Benedict, Lemon Bay: Though it came in a losing effort, the senior scored a team-high 24 points in a 64-62 loss to Port Charlotte.
Cayden Bosso, The Classical Academy of Sarasota: Bosso scored a team-high 20 points in a 61-60 win over Sarasota Military Academy.
Ben Milliken, Sarasota Christian: The Blazers rolled past Cambridge Christian 59-46 and scored a team-high 18 points in the win.
Angelo Blas, Imagine School at North Port: Blas went off in a 75-51 win over Saint Stephen’s Episcopal, scoring a game-high 30 points, seven steals and six rebounds.
Jaden Baker, Bradenton Christian: We know this performance by Baker came in a 90-64 loss to IMG Academy’s national team, but it was impressive nonetheless and scored 17 points.
Connor Heald, Cardinal Mooney: The senior scored 25 points in the Cougars’ impressive 66-54 win over Seffner Christian.
Rhys Gamble, Sarasota Riverview: The junior scored a team-high 14 points to lead the Rams to a 46-42 win over Braden River.
